Leon Engelen was born in 1943 in Bree (Belgium). He grew up in the middle of a then untouched nature with beautiful farms. Although Leon was creative, he did not excel in painting. But unconsciously he took in his surroundings. Gradually he gained vision and matured so that he can now revive the remnants of his youth in his paintings.
Leon Engelen werd in 1943 in Bree (België) geboren. Hij groeide op te midden van een toen nog ongerepte natuur waarin prachtige boerderijtjes stonden. Hoewel Leon creatief was, blonk hij wat schilderen betreft niet uit. Maar onbewust nam hij zijn omgeving in zich op. Geleidelijk aan kreeg hij visie en werd hij rijper zodat hij de overblijfselen van zijn jeugd nu kan doen herleven in zijn schilderijen.
